14 Steps. 5 Dedusting Stages.
Zero Compromise.

Every bag of Gormeet cat litter passes through 14 precision production steps and 5 dedicated dedusting stages. This is why our dust levels stay below 1% while competitors accept 3-5%.

The 14-Step Production Process

From raw material arrival to sealed bags on pallets — every step is controlled, documented, and repeatable. No shortcuts. No "good enough."

Why 14 Steps Matter

Most cat litter factories run 6-8 steps. We run 14. The extra steps aren't filler — each one solves a specific quality problem that competitors skip.

More steps means more quality checkpoints, more dedusting opportunities, and more consistency between batches. When a Korean buyer opens bag #5,000 and it performs identically to bag #1, that's the 14-step process at work.

Step 1

Raw Material Inspection

Incoming pea fiber, corn starch, and cassava starch tested for moisture, protein content, and purity. Any batch failing spec is rejected at the gate — no exceptions.

Quality Gate
Step 2

Raw Material Storage

Approved materials stored in climate-controlled silos (temperature < 25°C, humidity < 55%) to preserve freshness and prevent mold or degradation.

Step 3

Precision Weighing

Automated dosing system weighs each ingredient to ±0.5% accuracy. Manual weighing is eliminated — human error is the #1 cause of batch inconsistency.

Step 4

Pre-Mixing

Pea fiber, corn starch, and functional additives (binder, odor control agents) are pre-blended in a ribbon mixer for 8 minutes to ensure uniform distribution.

Step 5

Moisture Conditioning

Water content adjusted to 18-22% depending on product type. Too dry = pellets crack; too wet = extrusion jams. This is the single most critical variable.

Critical Control Point
Step 6

Extrusion & Granulation

Mixture forced through precision dies to form cylindrical pellets. Die diameter determines final pellet size (1.5mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm for tofu; varies by product).

Step 7

First Cutting & Sizing

Extruded strands cut to target length (3-8mm). A rotating blade system ensures clean cuts — ragged edges create dust in later stages.

Step 8

Stage 1 Dedusting — Pre-Screening

Vibrating screen removes fines and broken pellets created during extrusion and cutting. First pass captures ~40% of total dust.

Step 9

Drying

Pellets pass through a multi-zone dryer at 120-140°C. Moisture reduced from 18% to <10%. Drying temperature and duration are product-specific.

Critical Control Point
Step 10

Cooling

Counter-flow cooler brings pellet temperature from ~90°C down to ambient. Rapid cooling would cause micro-cracks; slow cooling preserves structural integrity.

Step 11

Stage 2 Dedusting — Post-Drying Screen

Second vibrating screen removes dust released during drying. Thermal stress causes surface particles to loosen — this stage captures them before packaging.

Dedusting Stage 2/5
Step 12

Stage 3 Dedusting — Polishing Drum

Pellets tumble through a rotating polishing drum. Fraction removes surface dust and smooths pellet edges. Result: cleaner pellets, less tracking, better feel.

Dedusting Stage 3/5
Step 13

Stage 4+5 Dedusting — Air Classification & Pneumatic

Air classifier separates by density (removes lightweight dust). Final pneumatic dedusting at the packaging line blows off any remaining micro-particles. Dust < 1%.

Step 14

Final QC & Packaging

Pre-packaging QC checks: clumping speed, dust level, pellet integrity, moisture. Only passing batches proceed to automated weighing, bagging, sealing, and palletizing.

The 5-Stage Dedusting System

Dust is the #1 complaint from cat litter buyers. We attack it from 5 different angles — not once at the end like most factories.

⚙️
1

Pre-Screening

Vibrating screen after extrusion. Captures fines and broken pellets. Removes ~40% of total dust.

🌡️
2

Post-Drying Screen

Second pass after thermal drying. Removes dust loosened by heat stress. Captures another ~25%.

🔄
3

Polishing Drum

Rotating drum tumbles pellets to remove surface dust and smooth edges. Captures ~20%. Improves pellet feel.

🌪️
4

Air Classification

Density-based separation. Lightweight dust particles blown away while dense pellets fall through. Captures ~10%.

🌀
5

Pneumatic Final

High-pressure air jet at packaging line. Last-chance dust removal before bags are sealed. Captures final ~5%.

The Result: Dust Below 1%

Industry average is 3-5% dust. Our 5-stage system brings it below 1% — measurably better for cats with respiratory sensitivity and owners tired of dusty paw prints.

What 14 Steps + 5 Dedusting Stages Means for You

📦

Batch-to-Batch Consistency

14 controlled steps mean every batch follows the same path with the same parameters. Bag #1 and bag #5,000 perform identically. Your customers never get a "bad batch."

🧹

Low Dust = Happy Cats

Cats with asthma and respiratory sensitivity need low-dust litter. Our 5-stage system delivers <1% dust — a selling point your brand can put on the bag.

📋

Fewer Customer Complaints

Dust, crumbling, and inconsistent clumping are the top 3 cat litter complaints. Our process eliminates all three at the source. Less customer service overhead for you.
